The Character
A mermaid caught in a downpour.
Based on the Odyssian myth, Calypso is a mermaid with a preference for the surface fresh-water and clear horizons of the archipelegan coast over the hazy blue cloud of the ocean.
She lives in the pools of a secret oasis where she's surrounded with her creature comforts, which reflects her taste for fine living and leisure. She's depicted here sat under the falls that nourish her pool.
Any who enter her domain are tempted with the notion of bliss, relaxation, and bounty, and abandoning the lives they've led so far.
